Andy Warhol estudió ilustración y sus inicios fueron de dibujante de modas, luego ilustres nombres como los de Phillipe Starck, Tadao Kenzo, Karim Rashid y nuestro Sebastián Errázuriz, han abrazado con éxito ambas disciplinas, Arte y Diseño
La relación y diferencia entre Diseño y Arte, desde una visión cultural, donde se citan otros puntos de vista, hacia lo estético y lo social es evidente. Un buen Diseño no lo hace cualquiera. Se tienen que conocer las reglas y leyes que lo definen, y los numerosos sistemas representativos que apoyan la comunicación.En este mismo proceso, el hombre encuentra la necesidad de replantearse lo espiritual y lo expresivo-emotivo, como parte del desarrollo creciente de su conciente subjetivo. Esta necesidad espiritual aumenta o crece en la medida en que las condiciones económicas son satisfechas, por tanto, el hombre piensa según como vive y en dependencia de esto, actúa. Las "necesidades" de tipo espiritual parten de una "necesidad" inmanente en nuestra condición humana y tienen un fin o función específica: llenar el "hueco" o el vacío de esta condición suprasensible humana con algo que no es material, pero que satisface y crea sensaciones, emociones, reflexiones, y que son puramente vivenciales y personales, por tanto, subjetivas.El fin o función de esta "necesidad" -llamémosle "Arte"- es precisamente cuestionar, relatar, observar, señalar, hacer sentir un problema de carácter cultural y darlo a conocer y presentarlo fuera de su círculo de acción: es decir, fuera de la persona en sí. Cuanto más capaces somos de percibir los sistemas culturales (el Arte) más capaces seremos de entenderlos y disfrutarlos.En cambio, el Diseño parte de otra necesidad. El Diseño es comunicar y es comunicación. Pero si al arte del buen decir y de la buena comunicación se le llama Diseño, ¿esto no quiere decir que "el Diseño es el Arte de la Comunicación"? Comunicar parte de otra necesidad y de otra función.No seamos tan puristas, bienvenidos diseñadores, arquitectos, instaladores, autodidactas, etc….y fundemos un nuevo hombre-creador.
Esta frase no es mía, la dijo Walter Gropius en 1919, al fundar el Bauhaus, en la República de Weimar.

Cultural Centers: New Scenarios Part 2. nuevos escenarios 2ª parte

Centros Culturales: Nuevos Escenarios 2ª parte.

Sin duda el inexorable laberinto del minotauro, siempre presente en la plástica local, de vez en cuando nos muestra alguna salida, que oxigena el medio cultural Antofagastino

Tres nuevos espacios para recibir las artes visuales, se han abierto en el último tiempo. Primero fue el centro cultural de la universidad santo tomás, que pronto espera nuevos aires para seguir creciendo. Luego la biblioteca viva, del mall plaza y su íntimo lugar de exhibición. Y para cerrar la trilogía, el salón ballroom del nuevo casino, acoge al talentoso luis núñez san martín y su serie, sobre los oficios. Sin duda tres iniciativas privadas, que dignifican el arte.

Aquí, los lugares son hermosos y silenciosos. Interesantemente pregnantes. Una usina reciclada en centro cultural, un banco, una antigua tienda de venta por departamentos, unos almacenes, etc… Todos tienen de común una cosa: se trata de edificios que han sido excluidos del sistema productivo porque ya no cumplían con los requisitos de funcionamiento rentable, dadas las nuevas características del mercado y del desarrollo tecnológico.

El rasgo descomunal que presenta la historia de nuestras artes visuales, no debe producir aprensión ni desánimo en el lector poco familiarizado con el tema de la cultura.
Mi compromiso inclaudicable con este gran desafío de instalar un centro cultural de primer nivel, con una línea curatorial de calidad y con instalaciones apropiadas acorde a las manifestaciones que ahí se exhibirán.

Aplaudamos estas iniciativas de particulares, aún sigue en deuda la política cultural oficial, que no ha dado señales de proyectos arquitectónicos de calidad, que reciban con seriedad las nuevas creaciones del arte local
